76 years old/young, have had a very good life with wonderful people, saw a lot, done a lot, have trouble remembering detail, I'm as happy as a snipe in long grass pottering about in my garden or tinkering at old cars or mending things - find this throw-away society of modern life distressful; even recycling stuff is crap, in my youth we re-used glass bottles, jars etc. I sold milk loose, i.e. measured into a jug. Mind you I would not want to go back to those days, we had next to nothing in worldly goods and went hungry at times, rationing was a sobering and thought provoking experience, please God we never see World War ever again. We are living in good times if one can see through the nonsense side of modern living.
On a visit to the Quaker's (Friends) Meeting house in Edenderry
on the 14th May 2011, we met the Clerk who gave us a wonderful
honest presentation of their beliefs and Practices. Both the message
and the messenger were very impressive.

My riverside walk in the Lloyd Park where I started walking in April 2010 after fracturing a vertebra. It was March 2011 before I was better enough to walk without the walking stick.
Ash Wednesday 2011 ---- Carmel's 8th anniversary. The family were all there except Colman who comes for Carmel's birthday instead. All well, especially Mureann who was sporting her engagement ring. Photo of Matt.
